Summer Clothes for a Toddler Girl

With Summer well and truly approaching, I thought I'd share my absolute favourite clothes for toddler girls.

My Sophie is now 14 months and she loves picking out her clothes in the morning. She may be one of very few toddlers that willingly sits still whilst I dress her. She gets really excited when I get to the socks, and I'm sure when she wears something a little 'floaty' she also walks with a little more of a swing about her, which is so cute!

1. I'm starting off my list with a cardigan from Next (Next Cable Pocket Cardigan (3mths-6yrs) • Next • £8.50–9.50). An essential item even in the Summer. You can't go wrong with a pink cardie for your little girl. I find that Next clothes wash really well too and most are suitable for the tumble dryer!

2. Here is a top and trousers outfit from Frugi (Frugi Girls' Smock Top & Pull On Trousers Set, Blue/Pink • Frugi • £24). Sophie actually has this already and despite the trousers, she looks really girly. The material is really soft (organic) cotton too, so it must feel really cosy to wear too.

3. Next, is a totally gorgeous top and leggings combo from Lilly & Sid (Lilly & Sid Baby girls flower top with stripe leggings • House of Fraser • £30). The top is really girly, but I love that the leggings have green stripes. I'm not particularly keen on pink overload so this outfit is perfect! I think this comes with having a boy baby first!

4. Here's Frugi again.. Sophie has these dungarees on today (Frugi Girls' Floral & Spot Print Dungarees, White/Pink • Frugi • £24)! They are lovely and thin, and I often put either a long or short sleeve pink, green and blue top with them. They also have poppers underneath so nappy changing is quick and easy! The straps are adjustable too, so as she grows, I can make a little more room in them for her!

5. This bright coloured dress from Ted Baker jumped out at me the moment I saw it (Baker by Ted Baker Girl's blue mirrored flamingo dress • Ted Baker • £18–19.80). I thought it could be teamed well with white, pink or orange leggings for cooler days and a pink cardigan. It would also look adorable on its own on warmer days.

6. Another top and leggings outfit, this time from Next (Next Patched Print Tunic And Leggings Set (3mths-6yrs) • Next • £13–15). Remember that floaty walk that I told you about earlier that Sophie does? Well she does that walk wearing this top! As it's a little big for her still, she can get away with wearing it as a dress alone, or a top with the leggings underneath. These leggings would look great with the Ted Baker dress too!

7. Oh my god, isn't this swimsuit just soooo adorable (Baby Alice Swimsuit • Monsoon • £12–14). I love the way it's a little looser around the middle. Perfect for accommodating a 'baby tummy'. I love the frilly top too. This is a definite buy for me!

8. This sunhat is reversible, so 2 in 1! Bonus! - Polarn O. Pyret Babies reversible sunhat • House of Fraser • £12. Being pink or white with no pattern, it's likely that this hat can be used as part of any outfit. It also has straps so it can be secured in place.

9. I just adore these sandals from Pumpkin Patch (Pumpkin Patch Girls bow jelly sandal • Pumpkin Patch • £15). They would look fab with any of the above outfits and could be worn without socks, or I would even pair them with some little frilly white socks. So scrummy!

What do you think of these items?

Is there anything you would buy for your little girl?
